John 14: 6
Jesus said. "I am the way, the truth and the life:
no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."
Acts 4: 12
"Neither is there salvation in any other: for there
is none other name under heaven given among
men, whereby we must be saved."
We are Separated from God by our Sin
You may have come here looking for answers that seem to evade you. You never seem to be able to come up with answers for the questions of life. You realize something is missing. Many problems that we have are the result of sin in our lives and also the influences of sin in the lives of those around us. As human beings God has given us the ability to fix things. Our human ingenuity and the increasing advances of science have come up with many answers. However, the common problem for everyone everywhere is that we cannot seem to get rid of the sin problem on our own no matter how hard we try. We can be sorry that we did wrong but we cannot seem to ever stop doing wrong completely. It is everywhere we turn and, if we are honest with ourselves, we know sin effects our lives as well. We always make excuses. The Bible says: " If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us." 1 John 1: 8
Most have heard of Adam and Eve in the garden. The Serpent challenged the spoken word of God and convinced Adam and Eve that what they were doing wouldn't really have any consequences of lasting value. Sin caused an immediate separation from the holy presence of God. Adam and Eve covered their nakedness and hid themselves. They ran away when they heard God in the garden. Isn't it amazing that the first thing we try to do is cover it up like they did? Sometimes we tell ourselves that we are not as bad as our neighbor. Without Jesus Christ in our lives we cannot conquer sin. Sin is our mortal enemy. The Bible says: "But every man is tempted when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death." James 1: 14-15
God Sent His Son to Save Us
Man has struggled with his own sin nature ever since and a loving God has been trying to reach him. He gave just laws, prophets, teachers and then His words written down. In the garden, a loving and merciful God made a promise to Adam and Eve when He said to the serpent that it would be the seed of a woman that would eventually crush the Serpent restoring man to his rightful relationship with God. Genesis 3: 15. That looked ahead to the cross. The most wonderful thing in the whole world happened when Jesus Christ, God's own son, came to earth and laid down His life. He is true God and true man. Spotless and Sinless. The Bible says: "For he hath made him to be sin for us; who KNEW NO SIN; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5: 21. What a marvelous exchange! Our sins for his righteousness! He took on Himself the sins of all mankind, that means YOU and ME. Because God's standard is holiness, there has to be
punishment for sins, according to the standards of a holy God. Jesus Christ took our place so we do not have to die in our sins. God doesn't want to be separated from anyone. He loves you very much What a wonderful Savior!
What Must I Do to Be saved?
1. The first thing you must do to be saved is to face the fact that you are a sinner and cannot save yourself.
You must realize that your works are never going to be good enough to make up for your sin. Perhaps you
are a person that says you are too bad for God to save. Regardless of how good or how bad you think you
are The Bible says in Romans 3: 23 "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." So you see,
everyone is a sinner and no sinner can save himself. How wonderful to know of His love!
2. The next thing you have to do is face God and confess your sins to God. Sometimes this can be an
overwhelming experience because as the Holy Spirit works inside your heart, you feel deep sorrow for your sin
called conviction. The Bible promises 1 John 1: 9 "If we confess our sins he is faithful and just to forgive us
our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." He has promised you forgiveness when you truly
repent (sorrow with a change of thought and a desire for change) of your sins!!
3. To receive salvation, you must believe the fact that Jesus Christ alone can save you and that there is no
other way to be saved. You must believe in the same Jesus as in the Bible. His virgin birth, his life, death,
burial, and resurrection. The Bibles states in Acts 4: 12 about Jesus "Neither is there salvation in any
other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved."
4. The final step is that you must ask him to come into your heart and be the Lord of your life from this
day forward. This must be an honest commitment to God with a willingness to live a life pleasing to God.
He loves you so much and desires an intimate fellowship with you. You will stand in his righteousness
and not your own because you realize it is his gift to you and you didn't do anything to deserve such love.
Are you ready to receive Him?
How Should I Pray?
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you knowing that I cannot save myself. My sins have separated me from you and I have many times chosen to do things that are wrong. My thoughts, actions and decisions have not been good enough and I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross for my sins, were buried and you arose from the dead just as you said you would. .I am truly sorry for my sins and I repent, Lord Jesus. I now believe that you are the only one that has the power to forgive me of my sins. I ask you to come into my life and forgive me, cleanse me and make me a new person inside. You are coming back for me and I shall live in your presence forever. I accept by faith that you have saved me. I want to live for you from this day forward and I now accept you as my Lord and Savior.
In Jesus Name I pray. . . Amen
Please Note: This prayer is meant as an example for you to follow but your own words of repentance are powerful, perhaps more so.
Now That You Have Received Jesus Christ as your Savior. . . .
To help you grow in your new found faith, be baptized as commanded in the Bible, read the Bible as much as you can so you know how to live for Jesus, talk to the Lord (pray) all the time about everything, and find a group of solid Bible believing Christians to pray with you and talk to you about your new found faith in Jesus. Finding a wonderful group of people in a good salvation preaching church will be an added blessing for you. These are areas you can pray about and the Lord will direct and lead you. He knows your life struggles and wants to make you strong in Him.
The Bible says:
"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory". Phil. 4: 19
